Profile Information

Hometown:
Dublin
Relationship Status:
Married
About Me:
I'm an actress living in Dublin, Ireland with my husband and grown-up children.

I really love acting and my experience includes theatre, tv and film, recently having completed a couple of shorts. Another area I enjoy working in is radio.

When I'm not acting I like to read, mainly the old spy and detective stories and fit in a bit of writing now and then.

I'm a bit partial to the old blogging so if you've nothing better to do I invite you to browse through my journals covering everything from snippets from my childhood holidays down the country to the American Presidential Election!

In there you'll also find links to my MySpace, Flickr Photostream and Twitter Account.

Favorite Music:
Everything across the board (rock, rock ballads, jazz, you name it!). On the Irish front it has always been, amongst others, Planxty. The brilliant Christy Moore and Andy Irvine singing Ride On and Arthur McBride in their wonderful unique voices sends shivers down my spine every time.
Christy Moore Live - Ride On
Planxty Live 1982

I cannot go without mentioning the great Dubliners. Listening to Ronnie singing In The Rare Auld Times, its lyrics so heartbreakingly true of today's rapidly changing face of Dublin city, I'm reminded of a time when neighbours had time to chat, children played safely on our streets and it cost sixpense to go up Nelson's Pillar. God be with the days!

Currently Reading? (Books Magazines etc)
Just started another P.D. James book, Shroud For A Nightingale
Favourite Place?
Home but when not there, Portugal.

Connemara Revisited!

Our arrival (hubby and I) a little over a week ago in Spiddal, Connemara, County Galway was greeted by warm sunshine along with a gentle breeze blowing in from the Atlantic Ocean. It seemed summer had finally arrived on Ireland's West Coast.

Jade Goody - A Shining Star Whose Light Is Slowly Fading

As recent as August of last year Jade Goody was given the devastating news that she had cervical cancer while she was appearing on India's version of Big Brother, "Big Boss". As a huge fan of Jade since her first appearance on Big Brother 3 in 2002 I was shocked like so man… Continue

I found some beautiful music last night. Go to LI Friend Siobhan and click on her music. I think she wrote it on an iMac with some French software. I play it in background while I am working inside.

Thanks again for the warm welcome, Ann. With the economy the way it is, especially in Ireland, are you finding it harder to find work in your field? Are the performing arts being affected?

Thanks Ann, I just wished that busking was as easy here as it is in Ireland I will get there some day but I must continue my fight for the rights of all buskers before they are regulated into hibernation. Cheers James

Good Evening, Ann... although it is actually early morning for you. I find your profile very interesting, as I also worked in radio for twenty years...but for numerous reasons, became a Florida State Bureaucrat (read paper pusher). I'd love to hear your thoughts regarding what it takes to do radio/VO work in Ireland. I hope to return to the field soon. TC
