Who would ever think that being a busker would be so hard and complicated? I see by many videos buskers all over Ireland not having any troubles and being left alone. But here in Nanaimo BC Canada they have the most rediculous set of rules you have ever seen for buskers have a look and give me your comments,

http://www.nanaimo.ca/UploadedFilesPath/Bylaws/5723.pdf

Here where I live they don't even clasify buskers as the perfoming artists nor do they include buskers as being eligable for cultural grants in My case it's because I am professional. Last night here in Nanaimo the city gave out $169,000 dollars in grants for arts and culture groups that is equivelent to 85,000 pounds, (Buskers exempt) tell me Is something wrong here?

When Busking is the issue of the day we will never give up

Just an update about our busking troubles here in Nanaimo BC Canada, As another busking season is closing in we have been forced to buy busking licences again as our city council have failed us in reviewing our municipal busking bylaw and have placed us as professional buskers in the same category as the homeless, the drug adicted, alcohol abuse clients, and people with mental ilnesses We are being labeled as a danger to the public and being asked to allow the safer streets committee to r… Continue

I am behind on keeping in touch with my friends on liveIreland. Sorry I haven't been in touch, I have been neglecting my computer lately . How is your busking coming along? Have you heard anything yet? Take care my friend, we'll talk again later.

Good morning from here James,
I read your message a few minute's ago. I am a guitar player myself and I love playing and singing, and, the bigger the audience, the better. I've told people in the past that my guitar has alway's been there for me, and, has never let me down. It alway's pick's me up and chase's away the blue's and worries. I do not see anything wrong with street entertainment, people have been doing it for year's. I,ve done a little of it myself when I was in high school. Keep on playing, that's what I say.

Best wishes,
Danny
