I greatly enjoy pictures of doors, especially colorful ones. My neice brought back photos made during her trip to Cuba two years ago. She had many colorful doorways and windows.

Profile Information

Relationship Status:
Married
About Me:
First of all, let me say that I have been to Ireland and fell in love with the country. I want to return to the west of Ireland...that is where I left my heart. My only disappointment with the whole trip was that we were unable to catch a ferry to the Aran Islands due to gale force winds...sigh. I was so deeply affected that I was inspired to write a poem about my feelings upon that disappointment. Plus I have also included another piece on the Hill of Tara in my Discussion area. I love LiveIreland and have visited the site frequently for the past three years.

I am artist, musician/singer, photographer, writer and lover of nature and pleasantly eccentric. I am mother of two beautiful young women whom I adore...they are the 'cat's pajamas'. My livelihood is "Flower Sculptures". I also have a professional photography business. You may go to: ZHIBIT.ORG/FAELASS to see my photography collection. I also performed in a celtic band, Selkie Celtic Band, years ago and there's a song ("The Trees Do Grow High") on their Myspace website (myspace.com/selkiecelticband) that you may listen to along with a few of their own celtic ballads and reels. (The tall fellow with the mustache is my husband, Davis.) You can find my song on Myspace.com/faelass. I am from Irish/Scottish heritage, therefore, I feel kin to all things celtic and anything having to do with the study of the cosmos; plus I embrace all beings who believe in common ground and hold the vision of a 'better tomorrow'.

PLEASE WHEN YOU POST COMMENTS AND REPLIES TO ME ON THIS PAGE OMIT SENDING IMAGES, widgets, ETC. I WOULD LIKE TO KEEP PURE TEXT ON THIS PAGE ASIDE FROM MY GALLERY OF PHOTOS. THANK YOU!

Hey Kathleen, what a coincidence you picked that song for me :). Look in the comments on youtube for the name Woolters; that's me. I found it three months ago. And it always makes me smile :).
And a nice midwinterfest to you too :).

I was curious after posting below about the actual locations filmed in "The Last Of the Mohicans". As it turns out, I was right about NC. You may click on link above or cut and paste to your browser to see the precise locations. Many of them are near you, I think.
Love,
Michael

Jesus, Kathleen the pic is not me, though there is a resemblance, for sure, but I am better looking than he. My nose is nicer!
It is none other than the greatest living actor in the world, Daniel Day-Lewis, resident of the Wicklow Mountains and Oscar winner. This particular pic is from "The Last of the Mohicans". In that film you may see Daniel running throughout the forests of NC (I think) in buckskins. He advised that he had no idea that women would deem him sexually appealing, while doing so. Apparently, he was short-sighted in this regard as he quickly became a sex symbol.
If you have not seen "There Will Be Blood" which is his most recent film, you should do so. I believe that his performance is the best of the past fifty years and may be the best ever. This is one talented person, Kathleen.
Getting chilly here now. Burning bushes, turning red.
Hope all is well. Slante.

Hey Kathleen...I'll take you home AGAIN!
How are you? Wow the summer flew by pretty damned quickly. Seems like just yesterday you were dancing round that May pole.
Sad! But fall is my fav season Crisp days, the aroma of wood stoves, pumpkins and the changing leaves. PA is very beautiful, as is NC, during this time of the year.
The dog and I have been playing frisbee more frequently, so she is pretty happy about that.
Listening to Irish tunes. Hope all is well with you, Kathleen.

hmm, apparently the system's not in a cooperative mood today. It won't display the hyperlinks I add. Anyway, if you want to see pictures of the humppa band, see my previous comment. after the 'here it is again:' there is a hidden link. Move your cursor very close to the right side of the coloun. You'll see it turns into a pointing finger, indicating that there's a hyperlink there.
So there's a little coordination skills test for you :).

Cheers!

Hey Kath,

I know Spike Jones! I love his song Holiday for Strings. Whenever you're in a bad mood, listen to that song and you'll instantly laugh along. None other but my own girlfriend introduced him to me. He was from the '40 I believe. He made all kinds of parodies on songs he thought too serious.
We had another performance last saturday. Together with a choir and a classical singer. It didn't fit together at all, but we got the audience to their feet.
I see you couldn't open the link I sent you. Here it is again:
Have fun, (you'll see we did)

greetings from beautiful Twente

Hey Kathleen,

Thanks for the comments. It's true you don't have these kind of bands in the US, but you do have these wonderful Dixieland or New Orleans Jazz bands, which is nearly the same, although not as "zany" (indeed :) ).
We're not alone though, there are over 2000 of these kind of bands in the Netherlands. Last Saturday we went to a humppa band festival. A day-long performance. We were wrecks at the end.
