Dober dan my friend. With that, I have said about all the Serbo-Croat I know in one greeting. Back during the war in the 80’s I heard a news broadcast that talked about the terrible conditions in many hospitals there. They had too many wounded patients and not enough supplies to treat them. The UN Commission on Refugees was looking for other hospitals around the world to help with the wounded.
I was the director of public relations for a small hospital here in Kentucky. I spoke to the president…

Well, this is just perfect. Mick Moloney is out with his brand new album on Compass. Entitled, If It Wasn’t For The Irish and the Jews, it is a continuation of the albums in which Mick is the acknowledged best----turn of the 20th century Irish-American, Tin Pan Alley music. The previous album, McNally’s Row of Flats, was a hit, and won every award available in Irish music, including a couple from this venue!…

I am a story teller. It is an art I learned from my late father. A magician in the late 30’s and early 40’s, he was part of what became known as the “tall grass magicians”, so named because they worked in the United States Midwest. He had a circuit through Kentucky, Indiana and Illinois that took him most of two years to complete. Deep in his heart he was a shy man but when he walked onto a stage in his tails and top hat he became the master showman. He held his audience enthralled as they waite…

Remembered Joy
Don't grieve for me, for now I'm free!
I follow the plan God laid for me.
I saw His face, I heard His call,
I took His hand and left it all...
I could not stay another day,
To love, to laugh, to work or play;
Tasks left undone must stay that way.
And if my parting has left a void,
Then fill it with remembered joy.
A friendship shared, a laugh, a kiss...
Ah yes, these things I, too, shall miss.
My life's been full, I've savoured much:
Good times, good friends, a loved-one's touch.…

Irish Toasts to Friends & Family
May you have warm words on a cold evening, a full moon on a dark night, and a smooth road all the way to your door.
There are good ships,
and there are wood ships,
The ships that sail the sea.
But the best ships, are friendships,
And may they always be.
May the hinges of our friendship never grow rusty.
Here’s to you and yours,
And to mine and ours,
And if mine and ours ever come
Across you and yours,
I hope you and yours will do
As much for mine and ours,
As…

We love Martin Simpson. This talented Brit is out with his---what is this?----14th album? On Compass, it is entitled, True Stories. There are 13 cuts in all. Wonderful songs---several penned by himself, and there is also a lovely variety of instrumental treats. Simpson is one of the best guitar players in…

In life, there are only two things to worry about—
Either you are well or you are sick.
If you are well, there is nothing to worry about,
But if you are sick, there are only two things to worry about—
Either you will get well or you will die.
If you get well, there is nothing to worry about,
But if you die, there are only two things to worry about—
Either you will go to heaven or hell.
If you go to heaven, there is nothing to worry about.
And if you go to hell, you’ll be so busy shaking hands wi…

About an hour ago we had a tornado warning. The storms came through so fast. The rain was amazingly heavy, and the thunder and lightning was very vivid and very loud. Welcome to New England in the Fall. Soon enough though we'll have snow up to our kness and be complaining it's too cold.

We had a patial view of the band , we were sitting in section 407 behind on the right hand side of the stage. Part of U2s set was blocking are view. We could see a bit better with binoculars. However, they rarely worked the back half of the stage so we mosty saw their backs. Muse was alright for a opening act. Overall I enjoyed the show though I wish they had played more music and talked less. They played a pretty good mix of old & new songs. I mostly went to hear their old songs. Their new…

Well, I actually got back from Germany in Late August and hit the ground running. I'm performing as "Uncle Billy" in the Annual "It's a Wonderful Life" production this Winter at French Lick, Indiana. I'm also working their "Ghost Train" show during October. I need to post some Germany pictures here in a scrapbook as soon as I get a few minutes. Between the theatre work, the menial job, and trying to start a business I'm obviously in "manic" mode. I am the king of too much to do for some reason.…

The last few weeks have been really nice weather-wise. The crisp air of early fall is making it's way down from the colder north, and the trees are beginning to change into they're Autumn cloths. This morning however it is raining. Not heavy rain, but a constant light rain. It reminds me very much of Ireland.
