Pat, I really enjoyed meeting you and Jim tonight here in Port Angeles. We shared lots of great stories and I felt like I've known you guys all my life. I hope you enjoy the rest of your tour through out little bit of paradise and please take lots of photos and share then with us all. I love your idea about having a meet-up and music fest and maybe someday soon we can do it!
Enjoy your journey and return home safely.
Go n-éirí an bothar leat!
Slán go fóill,
Robert

Hi Pat and Jim,
Thanks so much for stopping in, it was great to meet you both. I hope the rest of your trip goes well and you enjoy the Pacific side of the island; the rugged beauty, surf, rock and sand. There are many wonderful sights there. I hope you find some enjoyment there. If you are ever back this way I will make sure I have a bottle full of LaSanta, Jim. Cheers.

Pat, i took the chipmonk pictrure in St. Elmo, Colorado, a ghost town pretty much. Old mining town. There was actually a sign that said "Chipmonk Crossing." They were everywhere. I don't remember about the black background, but I was taking pics to that some of the backgrounds blurred. It could be I caught the side of a building in shadow.

Did you ever get the new lense you were thinking about?

Pat,

The picture of the bridge with the flowers had been taken in Clonakilty (Co. Cork): i think that was my favourite village. The bay with the boat had been taken in Kinsale (Co. Cork) also a beautiful village.
And yeah i need to go to university 4 more years to start working and 7 more years to work for my own.
Hope you'll have fun for your break as well and im off of university since the 23rd of may until the 15th of september. So yeah... im enjoying myholidays lol xx

Oooo that last post I made was pretty incoherent.....as I meant to say even in the rain on the coast it is beautiful.
If you plan to go out on a day trip leave fairly early as it is about a 4 hour drive to Tofino.
If you are into gardening you may want to check out Butchard Gardens
The Royal BC Museum has some great art and exhibits.
For sustainance and drink if you are in Victoria I would recommend the Irish Times Pub
Cheers, element

Usually very good. On the outer coast can be different...sometimes a bit of fog, but even in the rain out there, it as a temperate rain forest here so rain in the winter and dry in the summer generally. It does cool down in the evening which makes it nice for sleeping. We generally only have a few days a summer where it gets up over 30, moderated by the ocean.
Are you going to have communications while you are out and about (email, My LiveIreland etc.)?

Hi Pat. If you are going to be on the Island, I would highly recommend trying to get out to the west coast...to Long Beach and Tofino. You could visit Cathederal Grove on the way. A stand of very large original growth trees. It is a bit of a drive for a day trip but could be done. definitely worth the drive. We are going to be camping on Quadra Island from the 6th to the 13th but should be home sometime on the Sunday afternoon. When are you leaving for the excursion?

Which KOA are you staying at? Is it Victoria West KOA? That is only about 10 miles from my place.
