About Me:
Almost 40. :) Single mother now of two teenage daughters and one teenage son. My oldest daughter having Downs Syndrome has taught me how to appreciate all the little things in life and to take each day as a living miracle. I am passionate about my music of which I've been involved in since a very young girl. I'm involved in a living history society where we research and recreate the arts and sciences of the medieval thru rennessaince time period. Cooking, sewing, working in my small rose garden are just a few things that I do in my spare time.
Favorite Music:
Celtic music both traditional and contemporary is my absolute favorite. Jazz, Big Band, Classical and some country are follow ups.
Favorite TV Shows:
History's Mysteries, Ghost Hunters International, and a few other local shows.
Currently Reading? (Books Magazines etc)
Celtic Folklore
Favourite Place?
Someday I'll travel to Ireland and Scotland. Those are my favorite places to dream about.

Just a few ramblings

Two things I've learned today. One, don't let your children download Limewire or anything else that you're not sure about onto the computer. Two, since children know how to mess things up on the computer, they also know where to get it fixed. Okay, so my daughter tried to download something and it messed everything up on my computer. BUT, she was able to tell me how to save all my music so that when I take my computer in to get fixed, I will not lose any of my music files when the computer gets… Continue

Wooden Irish Flute

I love the music. Jigs, reels, traditional folk songs, old traditional, contemporary....but how come it is so difficult for me to play on a simple Irish wooden flute? I've played the "regular" silver flute for well over 20+ years and I'm pretty accomplished on it. Yet, the one flute sound I love, is difficult for me to get. It's those dang holes. They are too far apart, to wide, and my poor little fingers have a very hard time stretching that far, let alone covering them to get a good tone. How d… Continue

After the Faire

Back from a day at the Faire. A bit sunburned on the shoulders and on my upper chest where the bodice had pushed everything up. *L* Unfortunately, as I was working at the Faire, I was not allowed to take any pictures while in costume. After all, cameras were not around in the Middle Ages. Perhaps next weekend I'll remember to bring a change of clothes and change into mundane garb so I can go around and take pictures like a tourist. :) It was such fun though. The many merchant stalls where one co… Continue

A day to travel back in time

I am so excited about this weekend! The Faires have started up here in my area and it's time to get out all my Faire garb, dress up, and travel back in time. I have my best Irish linen gown pressed and embroidered for the pageant. The historical society that I belong to will have an archery field set up and a small list field for the fighters. My recorders are placed in the leather bag, my goblet strapped to the belt, and my slippers have new silk ribbons and new soles sewn on them for dancing t… Continue
