Well all is going good here just really sick of the rain.Have had 12 inches in 3 days. The whole town is flooded but other than that its really good. The chopper business is going strong. Seems the Marines want all we can build. That means good job security. The weather here is really weird this year. this is the hottest month of the year and instead of being 100's its only in the 60's. Well hope all is going well hope to chat soon. Take care.

I use to wonder if the Swedes in Minnesota ever got homesick like the irish,

when you say Cafe del Mar, you mean the bar with the DJs, sorry for sounding hick, I'm so not knowing music these days, I had a record out about 6 years ago, in Sweden, well, not quite, they ( a Swedish band) found one of my albums from the 1980s,

I didn't really do anything. I wrote the song or something. Whatever.

That Sistery of Mercy, they ran out of nuns when you were there?

i've a bike too, I'm just like Steve, except mine ain't a Harley, my bike, quite fast, it won't crash & scrape, bounce & wobble like a drunk elephant, it'll just explode.

Harleys are ok, I'm real accepting, I ain't got a problem with girlie bikes.

Hi Anthony! It's only taken me forever to reply! .......... Summer hols with kids - wild! Hope you're good and enjoying your hols, presuming you're free from studies right now! Medicine - wow! When do you graduate? My real/full name is Audrey. Auds was what friends/family called me as a kid - still do! Yes, Heard of Växjö but not been - we live 20 mins outside of Stockholm in a place called Saltsjöbaden. Have to admit I like rugby and am encouraging my boys to begin playing ...... big footy fans you see. Maybe this Autumn we'll convert them - tee hee! Sweden unfortunately doesn't have a big rugby base! We have as late as today planned and booked our trip to Champagne, YAHOO! Staying in Epernay and taking it from there! ........

Hello Auds,

Is that your real name? You love France? cool and i love all the countries you've lived in : ireland, England and Swe!!! Have you heard of Växjö ? I have a good friend there.
You'll go to Reims then!!! Guess what... i've never been there :( I live in Toulouse, on the other side of France, but im sure you're going to like it this summer.
I don't like snails and frog legs too much but if you go to Champagne you're going to drink a LOT of alcohol lol. And yeah i love rugby!!! Toulouse is one of the european capital of rugby...and i used to play before i started medicine university yeah. Feel free to join my group if you're a rugby fan too;) xx

Hi There! Sounds like your trip will be full on! You'll definitely need the 3 weeks to take it all in! My suggestion, as you may already have as part of the plan, is .......... do the "Ring of Kerry" not biased or anything but the scenery is breathtaking! That's where I grew up (Tralee/Dingle) I went to a Gaelic boarding school called Coláiste Íde, just outside of Dingle. It's right in the heart of the Gaeltacht and Dún Chaoin (http://www.dunchaoin.com/) is a hotspot for film locations. Both "Far and away" & "Ryan's Daughter" were filmed there. Here's a link with some info about it - http://ireland-travel.suite101.com/article.cfm/ring_of_kerry_ireland_drive
Hope I didn't come across too much like a travel agent!

I'm all about rusty Irish! Like they say "Is fearr Gaeilge briste na Béarla cliste!" Broken Irish is better than clever English! It's just nice to have you as a member and however you contribute, will be greatly appreciated!
My wife and I plan to do a three week tour starting in Dublin and just following the coast south and then up the west coast and hope to get to Ballyshannon for the Folk festival in August. We'll spend several days there and then head back towards Dublin. Still in the planning stage right now, but I'm open to any suggestions that you might have. Thanks for everything!
Slán anois!

Auds, Nice to have a native born Irish Lass join the Grúpa na Gaeilge. Your insight will be very much appreciated. I thought about adding a thread - Irish slang (as Béarla) so when we visit Ireland, we can be cool and fit right in! My wife and I have a trip planned (in 2010) and I'm really looking forward to it.
Slán go fóill!
Robert
