MacDara

I have added a track from MacDara's album "The Love Token". It is called "The Mighty Dancer & it is written by MacDara & his Sister Lasairfhíona. They both sing on this track & it is an absolute classic piece of writing & arranging. Go raibh míle, míle maith agat for this track MacDara & Lasairfhíona, I love it. Pete.

We are only borrowing this world of ours from mankind of the future. We have to leave something for them!!!

The Death of Life. by Pete. Mother Earth is too precious to just let it die, by raping the land and polluting the sky. Green fields turn into desert and the land's gon'na fry, rivers become just streams and sea's will run dry. Now we're choking our world and the air's getting thin. Yes! The meters running out, with no more coins to put in.

Seeing those poor children cowering from the terrorists & then running for their lives out of the school in Beslan made me write this poem.

The Slaughter at Beslan. by Pete. They went to school, some for the first time, like any other normal day. But they're poor minds have now been shattered, in a cruel and heartless way. Just innocent children, going to their lessons, some barely know the meaning of war. Were taken hostage by terrorist fanatics, and made to lie cowering on a gymnasium floor. They were denied anything to eat or drink, and their basic dignities were ignored. When they asked for food or water they were savagely ki… Continue

A tongue in cheek look at war!

Hey! Mr President. by Pete. Hey! Mr President. We've invented a new bomb. Can you find us a war, we have to try it on someone? Yeah, find us someone whose land we can spoil, and if we're in luck, we can grab some of their oil. Some third world dictator, who can't hit us back. Your saying, Iran? Syria? You're on the right track. Hey! Mr President. It's all going well, right down below us, we're giving them hell. There's a rubble strewn area, where once there were homes. They're fleeing in te… Continue

Poem about a song by Ken Haddock.

The Most Perfect Song. by Pete. You were travelling in a coach on a west bound train, observing the flowing scenery through the window pane. The beautiful colours adorning the hills and glens outside, delicately brushing a painted picture on the canvas of your mind. From that painted canvas to the pen in your hand, is where, "The Sweetest Hour's" foundations began. I am amazed by your talent and how the scenes that you observe, are transposed from your mind's picture into such beautiful word… Continue
